Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has shared his insights on the difficulties that Rockstar Games encounters with each new release in the highly popular Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series. During an interview on the Aarthi and Sriram Show, Zelnick acknowledged that Rockstar is always tasked with delivering something unprecedented, a task that is far from simple.
According to Zelnick, “I think that’s the challenge that the folks at Rockstar face every time that there is a new iteration of Grand Theft Auto. It needs to be something you’ve never seen before. And it needs to reflect the feeling that we have about Grand Theft Auto–that’s a big challenge for the team. Rockstar’s answer is seek perfection. Seek nothing short of perfection, and we’ll get there.”
In the interview, Zelnick also delved into his personal background, discussing his upbringing, his passion for fitness, and the career path that led him to Take-Two. The interview offers an in-depth exploration of his experiences and provides intriguing insights.
While Zelnick did not divulge any specific details about GTA 6, this was to be expected as Take-Two typically allows Rockstar Games to handle its own messaging and announcements.
Recently, GTA 6 made headlines when Take-Two offered some new hints about a possible release window, indicating that the game might arrive as early as 2024. However, it is important to note that nothing has been confirmed at this stage, and Rockstar Games has yet to formally unveil GTA 6.
In February 2022, Rockstar confirmed that development on the next GTA game was “well underway,” although this announcement might have been part of a recruitment initiative. Unfortunately, in September 2022, the game suffered a significant leak, with leaked gameplay footage, images, and purported details surfacing ahead of schedule.
