Since 2004, Gunjan Foundation has stood firmly on this belief, working relentlessly to ensure that quality education reaches children and youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. What began as a modest initiative has evolved into one of India’s most impactful education-focused foundations, restoring hope and creating opportunity for thousands of deserving students.
Over the past 21 years, Gunjan Foundation has touched the lives of more than 2,300 students across India, many of whom are first-generation learners. These children come from families of daily wage workers, domestic helpers, migrant labourers, single parents, and other vulnerable sections of society. For them, education is not merely academic progress—it is a pathway to dignity, confidence, and self-reliance. Under the leadership of Founder-President Ms. Sushma Singhvi, Gunjan Foundation has grown with a clear focus on transparency, accountability, and measurable social impact.
At the heart of Gunjan Foundation’s work is a holistic education model that goes beyond tuition support. The Foundation believes that true empowerment comes from sustained guidance, mentorship, and skill development. To achieve this, Gunjan has structured its efforts around three flagship initiatives—Gunjan-Sashakt, Gunjan-Utkarsh, and Gunjan-Aayaam—each addressing a critical stage of a student’s educational journey.
Gunjan-Sashakt focuses on school education from Nursery to Class XII. This program supports students by covering tuition fees, transportation, books, uniforms, and other essential academic expenses. In 2024–25 alone, more than 260 school students benefited from this initiative, with a significant number enrolled at Shishu Kalyan Senior Secondary School in Gurugram. By ensuring continuity in schooling, Gunjan-Sashakt helps children build a strong academic foundation while relieving families of financial stress.
For students aspiring to pursue higher education, Gunjan-Utkarsh serves as a transformative platform. This program supports college and vocational education across disciplines such as engineering, medicine, law, commerce, nursing, computer applications, and management. Many Gunjan-Utkarsh scholars are the first in their families to enter universities or professional institutions. Each year, 40–45 students receive support, and several have gone on to graduate with distinction, securing employment and breaking generational cycles of poverty.
Recognizing that academic success alone is not enough, Gunjan Foundation launched Gunjan-Aayaam to bridge learning gaps in communication, personality development, and life skills. Through online English conversational classes and supplemental learning programs, students gain confidence, clarity, and the ability to express themselves effectively. These initiatives have shown tangible results, with students improving both academically and personally, particularly in CBSE board examinations.
Gunjan Foundation’s impact is not limited to Delhi-NCR. With active chapters in Jaipur and Ahmedabad, the Foundation has expanded its footprint to reach students across multiple regions. The Jaipur Chapter focuses on higher education scholarships, career counselling, English and computer training programs, and special initiatives for girls’ education. Meanwhile, the Ahmedabad Chapter supports scholarships, monthly kit distribution drives, and the Swadhyaya Sadan—a self-learning resource centre that provides a safe and structured study environment for underprivileged children.
The Foundation’s consistent efforts have earned national recognition. Gunjan Foundation has been named among the Top 20 NGOs Making a Difference by LBB Delhi-NCR, Top 10 Most Impactful NGOs by Brand Honchos, and Top 5 NGOs by Crowdwave Trust. It has also received repeated Gold Category ratings from the Give Foundation for transparency and accountability.
