Renault and Nissan, the French-Japanese car manufacturers, announced in a joint statement on Thursday that they will formally present the agreement to reorganize their alliance on February 6th in London.
The announcement, which includes junior alliance partner Mitsubishi Motors, confirms a Reuters exclusive report from January 26th about the agreement.
The deal will revamp the 20-year-old alliance, granting equal footing to Renault and Nissan, and Nissan will also invest in Renault’s electric vehicle business.
The three companies stated, “At the conference, the alliance members will present the agreements that will establish the new foundation of their partnership, pending approval from their respective boards.”
